Henry J. "John" Lohman

Henry J. “John” Lohman, 76, of Leavenworth passed away at the University of Kansas Medical Center
On Wednesday, February 20, 2019. Born on March 14, 1942 in Leavenworth to Winfred S. and Elizabeth M. (Lebreton) Lohman. John attended and graduated from Immaculata High School in 1960. John attended Emporia State University and Donnelly College. John was a member of the Kansas National Guard and his unit was activated during the Vietnam War.


John enjoyed playing Gin Rummy and retired after driving a taxicab for 27 years.

John was preceded in death by his parents, spouses Marilyn Ross and Valerie Harris and brother Robert Lohman.


He is survived by his Granddaughter Sarah Rodgers of Leavenworth, life partner Georgina Clark of Leavenworth. Step-sons, Kirk Harris of New Jersey and Kyle Harris of Springfield MO. Brother Bill (Carol) Lohman of Leavenworth, Sisters Marsha A. Miller of Detroit MI, Mary (George) Carter of Easton KS and sister in law Susan Lohman of Overland Park KS.


A Gathering of Family and Friends will be Monday, March 18, 2019 at the funeral home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Per his request, no formal services will take place. Military honors by the US Army will be at 7:00 pm Memorials in his name may be directed to Leavenworth Council on Aging or Alliance Against Family Violence.
